Transforming a Corporate Corridor into a Living Masterpiece
At MSD Pharma Singapore, every space was envisioned to contribute to a healthier, more inspiring workplace. To support this vision, Vertical Green was engaged to design and install a bespoke preserved greenery feature wall that transforms a long circulation corridor into an immersive biophilic experience.
Instead of treating the corridor as a simple transition space, the installation turns it into a destination, bringing texture, movement, and the calming presence of nature into the heart of the workplace.
A Design Inspired by Nature
Unlike conventional rectangular green walls, this installation was designed as a collection of free-flowing organic forms that appear to grow naturally across the wall.
Each custom-shaped module is framed with warm timber edging, creating a soft contrast against the crisp white interior. Together, the interconnected panels form an artistic composition reminiscent of forest canopies, flowing landscapes, or even organic cellular structures.
The varying panel sizes create rhythm and movement throughout the corridor, encouraging visitors to experience the installation from different perspectives as they walk through the space.
By incorporating intentional negative spaces between the greenery, the overall design feels light, contemporary, and visually dynamic rather than overwhelming.
A Rich Composition of Preserved Greenery
The beauty of this project lies not only in its form, but also in its carefully layered planting palette.
The installation combines various preserved botanical materials to create depth, texture, and natural contrast, including:
- Preserved Reindeer Moss for its soft texture and vibrant green tones
- Preserved Bun Moss (Pole Moss) to create sculptural, rounded highlights
- Preserved Sheet Moss as a lush foundational layer
- Preserved Ferns that introduce movement and layered foliage
- Preserved Tropical Foliage, including broad-leaf species that add richness and visual interest
By combining multiple foliage textures and shades of green, the installation achieves the look and feel of a natural forest floor while maintaining a clean, contemporary aesthetic suitable for a premium corporate environment.
